Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 14, 2026
Tiny Trails Co. (“Tiny Trails,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of your family. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our website (tinytrailsco.com), mobile application, and SMS messaging service (collectively, the “Service”).
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you create an account or use the Service, you may provide: your name, email address, phone number, children's names and birthdates, family member information, memories and stories (text, photos, videos, and voice recordings), payment information (processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe), and gift recipient information.
Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service, we may automatically collect: device information (type, operating system), IP address, browser type, usage data (pages visited, features used), SMS delivery status and timestamps, and cookies or similar tracking technologies.
SMS & Mobile Information
When you opt in to our text messaging program, we collect your mobile phone number, the date and time of your opt-in consent, the method of consent (e.g., web form, keyword), and message content you send to us via SMS.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
Provide and maintain the Service, including sending daily memory prompts via SMS, email, or WhatsApp; store and organize your memories; generate AI-powered memory artwork; process payments and manage subscriptions; send account-related notifications (e.g., verification codes, subscription confirmations); improve and personalize the Service; respond to your requests and support inquiries; and comply with legal obligations.
3. SMS / Text Messaging Privacy
This section specifically addresses the collection and use of information related to our SMS messaging program, in accordance with TCPA, CTIA, and carrier requirements.
Consent
We only send text messages to users who have provided express written consent by checking the SMS consent checkbox during account registration, onboarding, or gift redemption. Your consent is recorded with a timestamp and the specific disclosure language shown at the time of opt-in.
No Sharing of Mobile Data
We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in data, or any mobile information to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Your mobile information will never be shared with or sold to third-party lead generators.
Message Content
Memories you share via text message are stored securely as part of your account. We process this content solely to provide the Service (e.g., saving your memory, generating AI art). We do not use your SMS message content for advertising or share it with third parties.
Service Providers
We use Twilio as our SMS messaging platform. Twilio processes your phone number and message content on our behalf to deliver and receive text messages. Twilio is bound by their own privacy policy and our data processing agreement. No other third party has access to your SMS data.
Opt-Out & Revocation
You may revoke your consent to receive text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, updating your channel preference in account settings, or contacting us at hello@tinytrailsco.com. We will honor your opt-out request within 10 business days. After opting out, you will receive one confirmation message and no further texts unless you re-subscribe.
SMS Data Retention
We retain your SMS consent records (including phone number, consent timestamp, consent language, and opt-in method) for the duration of your account plus 5 years, as required for TCPA compliance. Message content that you submit as memories is retained as part of your account data and can be deleted upon request.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in these limited circumstances:
Service providers: We work with trusted providers (Twilio for SMS, Supabase for data storage, Stripe for payments, Vercel for hosting) who process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations.
Family circle: Memories you share with your family circle are visible to members you have invited. You control who is in your family circle at all times.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Tiny Trails or others.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except for data we are required to retain for legal compliance (such as SMS consent records and payment records).
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your personal information; export your data in a portable format; withdraw consent to SMS messaging at any time; and opt out of non-essential communications.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@tinytrailsco.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
Tiny Trails is designed for parents and caregivers to record memories about their children. The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. All content about children is submitted and controlled by their parent or legal guardian.
9. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. We may use analytics tools to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on our website or sending you a message. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
